My gummies turned into a sticky blob... still safe to eat?
Hey everyone, I need some advice. I bought a bottle of multivitamin gummies about 3 months ago and just opened them again today. They've changed color (darker) and they're all stuck together in one big clump. Some also look like they have a white powdery coating on them. Are they still safe to eat? I don't want to waste them but also don't want to get sick. Help!
That white powder is probably just sugar bloom or something from moisture. As long as there's no mold or weird smell, you're probably fine. But honestly, if you're on keto, you shouldn't be eating gummies anyway. Those things are packed with sugar. Just saying.
I've had that happen before. Usually it's because of humidity. I just shake the bottle really hard to break them apart and eat them anyway. Never had a problem. But I'm not a doctor, so... maybe don't listen to me. lol
I had a similar thing with my omega-3 gummies. They got all hard and weird. I tried to meditate on it and ask my body if they were safe, but my body said 'no thanks.' So I tossed them. Not worth the risk, imo. Maybe just buy a new bottle?
Thanks for the replies! I think I'll try breaking them apart and smelling them first. If they smell off, I'll toss them. But @EarthElias661, I'm not on keto, so I'm not worried about sugar. @PlantPat745, maybe I should try meditating on it too, lol. Appreciate the input!
