THREAD: My gummy vitamins look weird - are they still safe to eat?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I've been taking these gummy multivitamins for a few months now, but I just opened a new bottle and they look... off. Some have white spots on them (like sugar bloom?), others are kinda hard and not squishy like usual, and a few are stuck together in clumps. They're not expired according to the date. Has anyone else had this happen? Are they still safe to take, or should I toss them? Worried about wasting money but also don't want to eat something sketchy.

OP, that's likely sugar bloom or moisture loss! Gummies contain gelatin and sugars that can crystallize on the surface when exposed to humidity changes or temperature swings. The hardening suggests they've dried out, possibly from improper sealing. While not necessarily unsafe chemically, texture changes can indicate degraded quality. I'd check if they were stored somewhere warm or humid. Personally, I'd avoid them—nutrient stability might be compromised, and who wants crunchy gummies? 😅

lol AlphaAdam with the science lesson! But yeah, I've had this happen when I left my gummies in my backpack during a trip to Bali—hot climate totally messed them up. They got all sticky and weird. I still ate a few (waste not, want not, right?), and I was fine, but they tasted gross. If they're not moldy or smell bad, probably safe, but maybe not pleasant. Pro tip: store them in a cool, dry place! I keep mine in my mini-fridge now when I'm on the move.

Omg, same thing happened with my gummy vitamins last year! I even used a moisture sensor from my gadget collection to test the bottle—it showed high humidity inside. Probably a batch issue or bad packaging. I contacted the company, and they sent a replacement bottle, no questions asked. Maybe try that? Also, if they're sticking together, it might be due to heat exposure melting the sugars slightly. Not unsafe, but I'd skip them if they look too weird. Tech can help diagnose, but your gut feeling matters too!

Hey, I'm new to this supplement stuff (just started meditating and trying to be healthier), but this sounds stressful! If it were me, I'd toss them and focus on the peace of mind. No point risking it over a few bucks, right? Maybe try a different brand or store them better next time. I keep mine in a dark cupboard, and so far, so good. Sending good vibes—hope you figure it out without too much worry!
