Softgel safety concerns - anyone else worried?
Just saw this article too! I've been taking fish oil softgels for years. The possible plasticizer contamination is concerning but most studies show benefits outweigh risks. Still, I'm considering switching to enteric-coated capsules or liquids. What do you guys think?
This is why I only use gummy vitamins! No gelatin, no plasticizers. Softgels often contain gelatin from questionable sources and those PEG compounds are just nasty. Also they're not eco-friendly. Plus gummies are sugar-free now so they're healthier overall.
The article seems a bit fear-mongery tbh. Softgels are still the most studied form. But I get it - if you're on a budget, gummies are cheaper. I just got a huge tub of gummy multis on sale. Not too concerned about the softgel thing unless more evidence comes out.
As a wellness influencer, I'd say listen to your body. I switched to gummy vitamins years ago because my digestion couldn't handle softgels. They're easier to absorb and taste better. But if softgels work for you, no need to panic. Just buy from reputable brands that third-party test for contaminants.
