Traveling with gummy vitamins - do they melt? TSA rules?
Hey all - I travel a lot for work (planes, road trips, occasional hiking weekends) and I'm trying to figure out the best way to bring my gummy vitamins with me. Do they melt in heat? What are TSA rules for these? Any storage tips for keeping them fresh on the go? I don't want to miss my daily dose!
I've taken my gummies on multiple trips! TSA is fine with them - just put them in your carry-on in the original bottle or a clear bag if you're worried. As for melting, yeah they can get sticky in hot cars or direct sun. I use a small insulated lunch bag with an ice pack if I'm road tripping in summer. For planes, keep them in your bag under the seat, not overhead where it's warmer.
ugh i feel this! when i drove cross-country last summer my gummies turned into a blob in the glove box lol. cheap fix: i put them in a ziplock and then inside a thermos in my backpack. also tsa has never stopped me, even when i had them loose in a snack bag. pro tip: if they do get stuck together, pop em in the fridge at your destination for a bit!
Caffeine gummy user here - can confirm heat is the enemy. Left mine in the car during a hike once and came back to a melted mess. Now I always use a small hard-sided container (like an old mint tin) and keep it in the coolest part of my bag. TSA-wise, no issues as long as they're not liquid. For long flights, I take mine right before boarding for that energy boost!
