Are Gummies Just Candy in Disguise? Concerned About Sugar

Okay, I'll admit I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to supplements. I recently saw these Vitamin C gummies and they look like candy. All that sugar can't be good for you, right? It feels like we're turning healthy habits into a sugar fest. Anyone else feel this way or am I just being too strict?

I hear you, Pete. I've been on the eco-warrior train for years, and the amount of plastic and sugar in these products is concerning. But let's be real, if it weren't for gummies, half the population wouldn't take any vitamins. It's about making health accessible. Just check the label and pick ones with low sugar or natural sweeteners. Not all gummies are created equal.

From a sleep-deprived parent perspective, gummies are a lifesaver. My kids refuse to swallow pills, and I need them to get their vitamins. Sure, sugar is a downside, but I control the dosage. They get one or two gummies, not the whole bottle. It's a trade-off. Plus, they're happy and I don't have to wrestle them down.

Haha, fair point, Bob. I get the convenience factor, but doesn't it set a bad example? Teaching kids that vitamins are treats? And what about the environmental impact of those plastic bottles? I recycle, but it's still plastic. We're just raising a generation that thinks pills are better when they taste like candy. Just play devil's advocate here.

Pete, I feel your eco-anger, but there are brands that use glass jars and compostable packaging. And some gummies use monk fruit or stevia instead of sugar. With proper education, kids can understand that these are special treats only for health - not like regular candy. It's all about balance. And I bet Bob's kids know the difference. Right, Bob?
