Are gummy vitamin C supplements as good as tablets?
Just saw this article: https://www.health.com/vitamin-c-supplements-dietitians-recommend-8426305 "We Asked Registered Dietitians What Vitamin C Supplements They Recommend — Here’s What They Said" Vitamin C has long been a staple in the wellness world, but recent discussions among nutrition experts have raised questions about the best form. The article mentions gummies as a popular option. What do you all think? Are gummies effective? I’ve been taking tablets but wondering if gummies are better for absorption.
Great post! I read that article too. From a science perspective, vitamin C is ascorbic acid regardless of form. Gummies often have added sugars and gelatin, so for purity, tablets or powder might be better. But absorption wise, some studies show chewable forms can have higher bioavailability because of mastication. Still, I'd check the label for fillers.
I love gummies! They make it so easy to remember to take them. I take them with my morning meditation. But I’m curious – do they actually work as well? I’ve noticed more energy since starting them. 😊
I’m all about eco-friendly packaging. Gummies often come in plastic bottles, while tablets can be in cardboard. Also, some gummy brands use sustainable ingredients. But yeah, the sugar thing bugs me. I’d rather get my vitamin C from local fruits – less waste!
Thanks for the insights! I’ll check the labels for sugar content and maybe try a powder form to reduce plastic use. Good point about local fruits too – I need to eat more bell peppers! 😄
