Are Vitamin C Gummies Just Candy in Disguise?
I can't be the only one frustrated with these so-called 'supplements' that are basically sugar bombs. I picked up a bottle of Vitamin C gummies and the first ingredient is corn syrup! When did we decide that candyifying our vitamins is okay? I want purity, not a dessert. Anyone else feel this way?
I get where you're coming from, Pete, but as someone who's cooked a lot, I think it's about balance. Gummies are a game-changer for folks who hate swallowing pills or have kids. Sure, some brands overdo the sugar, but there are options with less or natural sweeteners. Maybe check the label more carefully?
Oh man, this takes me back to the Flintstones chewables! I loved those as a kid, but yeah, they were basically candy. Now as a blogger, I see both sides. Convenience is huge, but I wish companies would stop adding so much junk. Have you tried the sugar-free ones? Some are pretty good!
I've tried a few 'natural' brands, Tina, but they still have fruit juice concentrates which is just sugar by another name. And Ivy, sugar-free ones often have maltitol or other sugar alcohols that can upset your stomach. I'd rather take a plain tablet.
Valid points! I guess it comes down to personal preference. For me, the taste helps me remember to take them daily. But maybe we should just start a petition for cleaner gummies? 😉
