Hey everyone, I'm a sleep-deprived parent and I need all the help I can get. I just started taking Vitamin C gummies to boost my immune system, but I also rely on my morning coffee to function. Is it safe to take them together? Any bad reactions? Also, does coffee affect the absorption of Vitamin C? Thanks!

I've taken Vitamin C gummies with coffee plenty of times and never had an issue. I'm a weekend warrior so I'm not super strict, but I think it's fine. The only thing is that coffee can be acidic, and Vitamin C is also acidic, so maybe it might upset your stomach if you're sensitive. Try it and see how you feel.

From a performance perspective, I'd recommend spacing them out a bit. As a marathon runner, I take my supplements at specific times. Vitamin C is water-soluble and can be taken with or without food, but coffee might hinder absorption slightly due to its diuretic effect. I'd take the gummy 30 min after coffee or with a full glass of water. Still, it's not dangerous.

I personally avoid combining them. I'm a granola parent so I like to keep things natural. Coffee can interfere with nutrient absorption, and I prefer taking my Vitamin C gummy with a glass of orange juice or a piece of fruit. But if you really need your coffee, just wait an hour after your gummy to drink it. That's what I do with my kids.
