Derms spill the tea on hair, skin & nail vitamins - what about gummies?
Just saw this article - apparently dermatologists are ranking the best hair, skin, and nail supplements. But they only mention pills and powders! As a gummy lover (and mom who needs convenience), I'm wondering if there's any difference in effectiveness? The article says vitamin C is key for collagen, but what about our gummy versions? Anyone have thoughts?
Girl, I feel you. I don't have time to swallow pills with a toddler hanging off my leg. I use those vitamin C gummies from Costco and my nails are actually stronger. But the article says something about absorption? Maybe gummies are just as good? I'm too tired to overthink it 😅
From a medical standpoint, the form matters less than consistency. Gummies are fine, but watch the sugar content - some have almost a teaspoon per gummy. That can affect skin health ironically. I recommend looking for ones with less added sugar like Nature's Truth or SmartyPants. Also, vitamin C is water-soluble so you just pee out excess. No harm in gummies if you like them!
Good point about sugar - I never thought about that! I've been loving these new aloe vera gummies with vitamin C but they do taste pretty sweet... Might check the label. Thanks for the tips, NectarNina!
