Flying with vitamin C gummies? Will they melt or cause TSA issues?
Heading to a biohacking retreat and packing my liposomal vitamin C gummies. Anyone know if these things survive a 6-hour flight? I've heard gummies can melt in checked luggage. Also, TSA rules for supplements? I don't want them thinking I'm smuggling something lol.
I stash my vegan gummies in a carry-on. TSA doesn't care about supplements as long as they're in original packaging or a labeled bag. For melting, keep them in a cool part of your bag, maybe near water bottles to buffer heat. Never had issues even in summer flights.
Ooh good question! I always transfer mine into a small glass jar (airtight) and put it in my personal item. Never melted on me. For road trips, I keep them in a cooler bag if it's hot. Also, TSA has never batted an eye. Just don't mix them with other powders lol.
Thanks! I'll go with carry-on then. What about hiking? If I'm out all day in 80°F, will they turn into a sticky mess?
For hiking, I use a small silicone travel tube (like for pills). They might get a bit soft but not fully melt unless it's like >90°F. Keep them in a shaded pocket, not against your body. Alternatively, bring a powdered vitamin C mix—less worry.
