My kid thinks Vitamin C gummies are candy and it's a battle!

Okay, so my 5-year-old has been begging for 'candy' all day, and I just realized she thinks her Vitamin C gummies are candy. She literally cried when I said she could only have one. And my husband? He's worse! He eats them like they're gummy bears. I'm worried about overdosing or something. Anyone else have this problem? How do you handle it?

Ah, the classic gummy dilemma. I always recommend keeping them out of sight and treating them like medicine, not candy. Maybe have a specific 'vitamin time' and use a fun chart. Also, check the dosage – vitamin C is water-soluble, so excess is usually peed out, but too much can cause stomach upset. Better to be safe!

As a retired nurse, I've seen it all. Yes, it's common! I'd suggest storing them in a locked cabinet or high shelf. And definitely don't call them 'yummy' or 'treats.' Use a pill organizer if needed. Also, watch out for those sugar-free ones – they can cause laxative effects. LOL. My husband used to sneak them too, so I hid them.

Oh man, I feel you. My kid refuses to eat them because 'they're too squishy' – like what? They're gummies! And my husband will eat the whole bottle if I leave it out. We've had to implement a 'one for you, one for me' rule, but honestly, I've just started buying the tablets. No more gummy battles here.

Ha! I'm a yoga instructor, and I always say – if it looks like candy, tastes like candy, it's hard to resist. But maybe that's a good lesson in moderation. We have a 'gummy jar' with a timer cap. It's helped. Also, you can try splitting the gummies in half to make them last longer. But remember, these are supplements, not snacks!
