Teen Multivitamins: Chews or Pills? What's Working for Your Family?
Just read that article about best multivitamins for teens in 2026. My 14 year old is so picky, won't touch a pill. They mention gummies a lot, but I'm worried about sugar content. Anyone else have teens who actually like these? We tried one brand and she said it tasted like chalk. Help!
Oh I feel you! My 13 year old is the same. We gave up on pills and went straight to gummies. Found one that's organic and sweetened with fruit juice, no corn syrup. She actually reminds me to take them! But I do watch the sugar – we brush right after. Can't be perfect, right?
As a marathon runner and mom of two teens, I'm all about nutrients that support energy and bones. I make my kids take a chewable multi that has some iron and B12. Gummies are fine for convenience, but check if they have enough vitamin D and calcium – teens need a lot. My kids are used to the taste, they say the texture is like candy, which is a win for us!
Tech guy here, I've actually looked into the bioavailability of gummies vs pills. The chewable ones get absorbed faster, but some have pectin instead of gelatin – good for vegans. My teen uses a brand that has a timer cap to remind you to take it, haha. But seriously, check the label for vitamin C – some brands add extra but it's not the only thing they need.
Thanks for the tips! I'll look for one with less sugar and more D. Any specific brand recommendations? I'm drowning in options.
