THREAD: Discussion about Vitamin C GummiesStarted by DynamicDan

Hey everyone, just wanted to share my latest experiment with Vitamin C gummies. I've been tracking my biomarkers for the past month while taking 1000mg daily from a high-quality brand. My blood tests show a significant boost in antioxidant levels and reduced inflammation markers. Has anyone else done similar biohacking with Vitamin C? I'm curious about optimal dosing for immune function versus collagen synthesis.

Interesting data, Dan! I've been following Dr. Huberman's protocols and he emphasizes getting Vitamin C from whole foods, but I've been using gummies as a backup on high-stress days. My concern is the sugar content in most brands - some have up to 3g per serving. Does anyone know of sugar-free options that still have good bioavailability? Also, what's the consensus on timing - morning vs evening?

Oh I LOVE my Vitamin C gummies! I take the Nature's Way Sambucus ones every morning - they taste like berries and make me feel like I'm doing something good for my body. I haven't done any fancy testing like you guys, but I definitely notice I get fewer colds since I started taking them regularly. My question is about storage - does heat affect the Vitamin C content? I keep mine in my car sometimes and worry they might lose potency.

Great points everyone. @HubermanHopeful35 - I use a brand called Pure Encapsulations that's sugar-free and uses ascorbic acid with citrus bioflavonoids for better absorption. As for timing, studies show Vitamin C has a half-life of about 30 minutes in plasma, so splitting doses might be more effective than one large dose. @MindfulMila - heat and light definitely degrade Vitamin C. Keep them in a cool, dark place for maximum potency. Has anyone experimented with liposomal Vitamin C versus gummies?

Thanks for the brand recommendation, Dan! I'll check out Pure Encapsulations. Regarding liposomal vs gummies - I tried liposomal for a while but found it expensive and the taste wasn't great. The convenience of gummies makes adherence much easier for me. Does anyone have experience with combining Vitamin C gummies with other supplements? I'm wondering about interactions with things like iron or certain medications.

I'm so glad I found this thread! I never thought about the storage issue - I'll start keeping my gummies in the pantry instead of my purse. As for combining supplements, I take my Vitamin C gummies with my morning probiotic and haven't had any issues. My naturopath said Vitamin C can actually help with iron absorption from plant sources. Has anyone tried making their own Vitamin C gummies? I saw a recipe online using gelatin and orange juice concentrate!
