Just saw this article about the best vitamin D supplements for winter. I'm all about gummies because I hate swallowing pills. What's your go-to brand for vitamin D gummies? I've been using Nature's Bounty but wondering if there's something better. Also, do you take them with food or empty stomach?

I swear by Olly's vitamin D gummies. They taste amazing and have 1000 IU per gummy. I take two in the morning with my breakfast. Since I work out hard, I feel like they help with recovery too. But yeah, vitamin D is crucial for immune health, especially in winter.

As a grandparent, I'm worried about my grandkids getting enough vitamin D during the dark months. I bought them SmartyPants gummies because they have D3 and other vitamins. But are there any side effects I should watch out for? They love the taste but I don't want them to OD on vitamins.

SproutSid536, good question! I think for kids, you gotta stick to the recommended dosage. Too much vitamin D can cause issues like nausea or kidney stones. But the gummy doses are usually safe. Just check the label. Also, maybe talk to their pediatrician?

Agreed with TeaTina77. Also, I think some gummies have added sugars, so watch out if you're giving them to kids. But vitamin D is fat-soluble, so taking it with a meal that has healthy fats (like avocado or eggs) helps absorption. So don't take them on an empty stomach!
