Hey all! I'm heading on a week-long road trip through the desert, and I want to bring my vitamin D gummies. I'm worried they might melt in the car when we're parked in the sun. Any tips? Also, does anyone know if they count as liquids for TSA? I'm flying part of the way.

I've taken gummies camping in my backpack during summer hikes. They can get soft but not fully melt if you keep them out of direct sun. Maybe put them in a small cooler with an ice pack if you're really worried. For TSA, they're a solid, so they don't count as liquid. Just keep them in original bottle if possible.

I've flown with gummies before. I put them in a separate baggy and they didn't even ask about them. They don't melt in your carry-on because the cabin is cool. For the car, I'd keep them in the glove compartment or a cooler. Also, if they do get squished, they still work, just not pretty!

I'm a total newbie to this, but I had a similar worry on my meditation retreat. What I did was put them in a small jar and wrap it in a damp cloth (like a DIY evaporative cooler). It kept them from getting too sticky. Also, maybe check if they have a high melting point? Some brands are more heat stable.

Yo, as a vegan I'm always cautious about ingredients. But heat-wise, I've stored my gummies in the car in the summer and they just got a little soft, not a mess. Just don't leave them in a hot car for hours. And for the plane, they're solid so no issue. If you're hiking, stick them in a ziplock inside your backpack, not in a pocket that's against your back.
