Hey guys! I tried making my own Vitamin D gummies using gelatin and some powder I bought. Followed a recipe online but they came out like rubbery blobs. Anyone got tips for the right ratio? I miss the texture of store-bought ones.

Oh no! I’ve been there. Did you use agar? I prefer it cuz it’s plant-based. But if you want that chewy texture, try using less gelatin and more liquid. Also, make sure you bloom the gelatin properly in cold water first. Hope that helps!

Keto here! I use grass-fed gelatin and add a little MCT oil. Your rubbery issue might be too much gelatin. I do 2 tbsp gelatin per cup of liquid. Also, let them set in the fridge longer. Btw, check your vitamin D powder - some have fillers that mess with the consistency.

Tech tip: use a immersion blender to mix the powder evenly. Also, silicone molds are life - they release better. For temp, keep it under 180°F or the gelatin breaks down. I use a sous vide to keep it perfect. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I think I used too much gelatin and didn't bloom it. Gonna try again with less and maybe a little agar. Also thanks for the tip about checking fillers - my powder had maltodextrin. Appreciate the help!
