So my 5-year-old found the bottle of Vitamin D gummies and now thinks they're candy. I caught him sneaking a third one today! I've tried hiding them, but he's like a little detective. Any advice on how to keep these out of reach without making them more tempting? Also, is it dangerous if he eats too many?

Oh man, I remember doing that as a kid! My mom used to hide them in a high cabinet and only gave them to me at breakfast. Maybe try that? Or put them in a different container that doesn't look candy-like. But also, yeah, too much Vit D can be toxic, so keep them locked up if you can. Maybe a childproof lock on a pantry?

I've been using sugar-free gummies for my kids because the regular ones are basically candy. But even then, they'd eat too many because they taste good. I use a weekly pill organizer and only put one gummy in each day's compartment. That way, they know they can only have one per day. Works like a charm!

As a digital nomad with no kids, I can't relate to the hiding part, but I do know that texture matters. My niece refused to eat the chewy ones because she said they felt 'weird'. Maybe your kid just likes the taste, but if he's sneaking them, perhaps try a different brand with a firmer texture? Or just involve him in taking them - let him help you take it out of the bottle and put it on his tongue, making it a ritual rather than a treat.
