New study on Vitamin D gummies - legit or hype?
Hey all, just saw this study on Vitamin D gummies and thought I'd share. It says that gummies are just as effective as capsules for raising blood levels of Vitamin D. But I'm a bit skeptical because it was funded by a gummy company. What do you think? Here's the link: [link]
Hmm, that's a good find! As a med student, I can tell you that the delivery form (gummy vs capsule) shouldn't matter much for absorption, as long as it's the same type of Vitamin D (D3 or D2). But yeah, industry funding is a red flag for bias. If they don't disclose the full methodology, I'd take it with a grain of salt. Look for independent studies or meta-analyses.
Oh I love gummies! They're the only way I remember to take my vitamins lol. But I've heard that some gummies have less vitamin than they claim due to degradation. Not sure if that's true though. That study gives me hope. I'll check the link after my yoga session.
Good point Ursula! I didn't think about the funding bias. Daphne, yeah, I've heard that too, but this study says they tested the actual content and it matched the label. Still, it's just one study. Maybe we need more independent research.
Exactly! Plus, remember that gummies often contain sugar and other additives, so if you're taking multiple vitamins, that might not be ideal. But for Vitamin D specifically, if it works for you, go for it. Just don't rely on one study for everything.
