Traveling with Vitamin D Gummies - Will They Melt? TSA?

Hey all! I'm going on a two-week trip next month (plane + road trip + some hiking). I take Vitamin D gummies daily and don't wanna skip, but I'm worried about them melting in my bag, especially for the hiking part. Also, any TSA issues? Should I bring them in original bottle or can I transfer to a ziplock? Any tips appreciated!

I've taken gummies on flights before – no problem with TSA as long as they're in solid form. I'd keep them in the original bottle to be safe, but a ziplock is fine too. For melting, try to keep them in a cool place, maybe in a small insulated pouch or even a thermos? For hiking, put them in a separate bag and wrap in a wet cloth to keep cool. I've done that with chocolate, works like a charm!

Honestly, why bother with gummies? They're just overpriced candy. Just get a cheap pill bottle of Vitamin D and you won't have any melt issues. TSA won't care either way. But if you're set on gummies, maybe just buy a travel-size bottle of the pills and switch for the trip. No need to overcomplicate things.

As a former nurse, I'd recommend keeping meds in original containers to avoid any confusion. For melting, gummies typically start getting soft around 90°F, so your main concern is the car/hiking. I bought a small insulated lunch bag and put an ice pack in with my gummies for a camping trip – worked well. Also, remember that heat can degrade vitamins, so try to keep them as cool as possible. Safe travels!
