Traveling with Vitamin D Gummies – Will They Melt? TSA?

Hey everyone! I’m heading on a week-long hiking trip and want to bring my Vitamin D gummies. Problem is, I’ll be flying and then hiking in warm weather. Do these things melt easily? Any tips for storing them? Also, do I need to worry about TSA? They’re a solid gummy, not liquid, so I assume they’re fine in my carry-on? Flying domestic within the US.

I’ve taken gummies on planes plenty of times. As long as they’re solid, TSA doesn’t care. For melting, keep them in your carry-on, not checked luggage. If you’re worried, put the bottle in a ziplock bag. I’ve had gummies get a little soft in hot weather but never fully melted. You’ll be fine!

yeah what FF said. I’d also add that if you’re hiking in direct sun, keep them in a shaded pocket. The gummies can get sticky if it’s super hot. Maybe wrap the bottle in a bandana or something. TSA won’t bat an eye, they see supplements all the time. Have a great trip!

Biohacker here. Environmental temp can degrade the Vitamin D potency over time, but for a week it’s negligible. If you want to be extra careful, store them in a small insulated bag or even a thermos? Overkill maybe. But yeah, TSA is a non-issue. Just keep them in original packaging to avoid questions. Happy trails!
