THREAD: Vitamin D Gummies - Are we overdoing it? Dosage guide discussionStarted by OP

Hey everyone, just saw this article and thought it was super relevant for our gummy vitamin discussions. # Are you taking supplements correctly? Here’s a guide on their dosage limits A recent report highlights a crucial, yet often overlooked, aspect of the booming supplement industry: the importance of proper dosage limits. The article talks about how easy it is to overdo supplements, especially with gummies since they taste like candy. It mentions specific limits for Vitamin D - apparently too much can cause calcium buildup and other issues. What do you all think? Are we paying enough attention to dosage with our Vitamin D gummies?

As someone who works nights and rarely sees sunlight, I've been taking Vitamin D gummies for years. Honestly, I just take what the bottle says - usually 2 gummies daily. This article has me wondering though... I sometimes take an extra one if I feel extra tired. Probably not smart, huh? The article mentions something about 4000 IU being the upper limit for adults? Need to check my bottle when I get home from my shift. Anyone else just winging it?

FINALLY someone talking about this! I've been skeptical about gummy vitamins from the start. My kids beg for them because they taste like candy, but I'm always checking labels. The article is right - people think 'more is better' with supplements. With Vitamin D specifically, fat-soluble vitamins can build up in your system. I make sure my family's gummies are within the RDA limits. Pro tip: check if your gummies are D2 or D3 - absorption rates differ! Anyone else actually reading the fine print?

omg this is so timely! I just started taking Vitamin D gummies last month for my meditation practice (trying to boost mood and focus). I've been taking 3 a day because... well, they're delicious and I figured extra couldn't hurt? The article says overdose symptoms include nausea and weakness - I did feel a bit off yesterday. Maybe I should cut back? How do you all track your intake? I'm terrible at remembering doses...

@LunarLily - 3 a day without checking the IU per gummy? Girl, no! Most gummies are 1000-2000 IU each. You might be way over. The meditation connection is interesting though - low Vitamin D can affect mood. But balance is key! I use a pill organizer even for gummies. @PurePete - extra when tired isn't how supplements work. Get your levels tested if you're concerned. This article should be required reading before buying any gummies!
