Hey everyone, trying to save some cash by making my own gummy vitamins at home. I bought some vitamin B12 powder and tried using gelatin, but my batch came out super rubbery and tasted awful. Anyone have a good recipe or tips? I'm on a tight student budget so can't afford to waste ingredients!

RhinoRich660, I've been making traditional gummies for years. Gelatin needs precise temperature control - you probably overheated it. Try using 1 tablespoon gelatin to 1/4 cup liquid, heat gently until just dissolved (don't boil!), then mix in your powders. Let it set overnight. Modern shortcuts never work as well as old methods.

OMG I feel you! Tried this last month when my kids refused their chewables. Total fail - they looked like weird blobs. Vince's temp advice is good, but also make sure your vitamin powder is fully dissolved first in a little warm water before adding to gelatin mix. Otherwise you get gritty bits. *yawns* speaking from exhausted trial-and-error here.

Friends, consider agar instead of gelatin for a more vibrational alignment! Gelatin carries animal energy, while agar from seaweed connects to ocean healing. Mix 1 tsp agar powder with 1 cup liquid, bring to gentle simmer for 5 min, then add your B12. The universe rewards patience in setting - about 2 hours. Blessings on your wellness journey!

Thanks all! Vince - gonna try your temp method tonight. Gigi - good call on dissolving powder first, mine was definitely clumpy. Sam - agar is pricier but might try if this fails. Will report back!
