THREAD: Looking for gummy recommendations for aging parent or fitness friend - health pack ideas?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I'm trying to find a good 'health pack' or specific gummies to gift either my aging mom (she's 68) or my fitness-obsessed buddy. My mom has trouble sleeping sometimes, and my friend is always looking for natural supplements to support recovery. I saw these Nested Naturals Luna Kids Sleep Gummies with melatonin, valerian root, etc. - but they're for kids. Anyone have experience with adult versions or similar products? Open to any suggestions!

OP, I've actually tried tracking my sleep with a smartwatch while using melatonin gummies! Not this exact brand, but similar ingredients. For your mom, maybe look for adult sleep gummies with lower melatonin doses? Some brands have 'senior' formulas. For your fitness friend, there are gummies with stuff like magnesium or L-theanine for recovery. I can link you to some apps that compare supplement ingredients if you want - tech makes this so much easier!

Careful with gummies - many have hidden sugars or carbs that can kick you out of ketosis! I'm strict keto, so I avoid most gummy vitamins. For sleep, I use a valerian root tincture instead. For your fitness friend, if they're low-carb, maybe look for capsule forms? But if they're not keto, those sleep ingredients (chamomile, lemon balm) are generally clean. Just check the label for maltitol or other sweeteners.

lol I've actually tried making homemade sleep gummies with chamomile tea and gelatin! They were... okay. Store-bought ones like these are probably more reliable for a gift. For your mom, the mixed berry flavor sounds nice - gentle on older taste buds. For a health pack, you could pair sleep gummies with a relaxing tea blend I make with lavender and honey. Just an idea! Gift baskets are always fun.

Weekend warrior here - I take a sleep aid sometimes after big Saturday hikes to help recover. Melatonin gummies work decently, but I prefer ones with magnesium for muscle relaxation. Your fitness buddy might appreciate that combo! For your mom, valerian root can be great, but start with a low dose. Maybe get a small pack to test first? Also, non-habit forming is key - nobody wants dependency. Good luck!
