Luna Kids Sleep Gummies on sale at Costco – lower price = lower quality?
Found these at my local Costco for $15 for 60 gummies. That's like half the normal price! But I'm wondering if they changed the formula or something? They're for my 8yo who has trouble falling asleep. Anyone else grab these on sale? Is it a steal or a red flag?
We've used these for a while! I've seen them at Target for $22, so $15 is a good deal. The ingredients look the same to me (melatonin, valerian, chamomile, lemon balm). I think it's just Costco's buying power. They're not habit-forming, but always check with your doc. My kiddo takes 1 gummy 30 min before bed and it helps without making her groggy.
Price doesn't equal quality here. The active ingredients are standardized – 0.5 mg melatonin per gummy is the same regardless of retailer. Costco just negotiates better. I'd grab them. But note: long-term melatonin use in kids isn't well-studied. I'd rotate with other sleep aids like magnesium or a consistent bedtime routine. Bottom line: it's a steal if your kid doesn't have underlying issues.
I remember when these first came out! The price has come down a lot. I've bought at Costco before and they're legit. My only tip: store them in a cool place – the gummies can melt and get sticky. Also, the berry flavor is pretty good, but my kids say the 'mixed berry' is just like a sweeter berry blend. We still buy them!
