Hey everyone, I'm a student on a tight budget and my little sister has been having trouble falling asleep lately. I saw these Nested Naturals Luna Kids Sleep Gummies at the store and they're pretty pricey - about $25 for 60 gummies. Has anyone actually tried these? Do they work well enough to justify the cost? I'm worried about spending that much on something that might not help, especially since it says 'non-habit forming' but I'm still cautious about giving melatonin to a kid.

I'm also a student trying to save money, but I actually bought these for my 8-year-old nephew last month! He was having sleep issues after switching schools. The mixed berry flavor is really good - he actually asks for his 'sleepy gummy' at bedtime. I noticed he falls asleep about 20-30 minutes faster than before. The ingredients seem clean (vegan, no artificial stuff), but yeah, they're definitely not cheap. I split the cost with my sister since we both use them for our kids on sleepovers.

As an amateur chef who pays attention to ingredients, I appreciate that these use valerian root, chamomile, and lemon balm alongside melatonin. These are traditional sleep aids that have been used for centuries. However, I'd be curious about the actual dosage of each ingredient - the label just says 'proprietary blend' which always makes me skeptical. Has anyone experienced any morning grogginess with these? Sometimes combination sleep aids can have that effect.

Thanks FloraFinn! That's helpful to know they actually work. Do you give just one gummy or the full dose? And HubermanHopeful raises a good point about the proprietary blend - I didn't even notice that on the label. For $25, I'd want to know exactly what I'm getting. Has your nephew had any side effects, FloraFinn?

We use just one gummy (the recommended dose for his age) about 30 minutes before bed. No morning grogginess that we've noticed! He wakes up pretty refreshed. About the proprietary blend - I agree it's annoying not knowing exact amounts, but I checked and all the ingredients are generally recognized as safe. The melatonin is 1mg per gummy which is standard for kids. Honestly, for us, the convenience of the gummy form (vs. trying to get him to drink tea) makes it worth it, even on my student budget.

1mg melatonin is reasonable for children. The herbal additions could provide a more gentle, holistic approach than melatonin alone. If you do try them DynamicDan, I'd suggest starting with half a gummy to see how your sister reacts. And maybe pair it with good sleep hygiene - dim lights before bed, no screens, etc. That way you're not relying solely on the supplement. Let us know if you decide to try them!
