So I tried making my own prenatal gummies at home using gelatin and women's vitamin powder, but they came out super rubbery and taste awful. What am I doing wrong? Anyone have a good recipe?

Oh, I've been there! It's all about the ratio and temperature. Gelatin needs to bloom properly, and you can't boil it or it gets rubbery. Also, agar is more forgiving if you want vegan. Try using fruit juice instead of water, and maybe add a bit of honey. I have an old recipe from my blog days if you want!

I tried agar once and ended up with a mess. The key is to let it set at room temp before refrigerating. Also, don't use acidic juices - they break down the gel. And for vitamin taste, maybe mask with strong flavors like lemon or berry. Keep at it, it's a learning curve.

Honestly, why not just buy the real thing? You know those homemade ones might not have the right dosage. And you can never be sure the vitamins don't degrade with heat. I'd rather stick to trusted brands like OLLY. But if you're set on DIY, try using a candy thermometer and keep it low.

I tried DIY once and gave up after they tasted like chalk. Now i just buy OLLY prenatal gummies - they have DHA and all, and they're easy to take on my way to work. But for those who want to try, I found that using a silicone mold and adding a little citric acid helps with taste.
