Anyone tried these OLLY sleep gummies? Worth it for a student on a tight budget?
Hey everyone, I've been struggling with sleep lately because of my crazy exam schedule. Saw these OLLY sleep gummies at the store and they're not cheap - about $20 for 120 count. Has anyone actually tried them? Do they work well enough to justify the cost for a broke student like me? I'm worried I'll just be paying for fancy packaging.
Interesting formulation! 5mg melatonin is a solid dose, and I like the addition of L-Theanine and adaptogens like chamomile and lemon balm. The combination should theoretically promote relaxation without next-day grogginess. I've been tracking my sleep with a WHOOP strap and might give these a 30-day trial. Anyone have experience with how quickly they kick in? The blackberry flavor sounds appealing compared to some bitter sleep supplements.
I've been using these for about 3 weeks now! As someone who does CrossFit 5x a week, recovery is everything. I take 2 gummies about 30 minutes before bed and I'm definitely falling asleep faster. The taste is actually really good - not medicinal at all. My only complaint is I wish they had a higher melatonin option for really tough nights. Steve, you should definitely track your deep sleep percentages if you try them!
Meh, I'm skeptical. I tried these for a week and didn't notice much difference. I lift heavy 6 days a week and my sleep issues are more about muscle recovery than falling asleep. Felt like expensive candy to me. Dan, save your money and try magnesium glycinate instead - way cheaper and better for muscle relaxation. These gummies seem like they're targeting the 'wellness' crowd more than serious athletes.
Thanks for the input everyone! Noah, glad they're working for you. IvyIron, I appreciate the magnesium suggestion - I'll look into that too. Steve, if you do try them with your WHOOP, I'd love to see the data! Maybe I'll buy a small pack first instead of the big 120-count. Anyone know if they ever go on sale at places like Target or Amazon?
Dan - they're frequently on sale at CVS with their ExtraCare program. Noah, thanks for the timing tip! 30 minutes pre-bed aligns with melatonin's pharmacokinetics. IvyIron, you raise a valid point about muscle recovery vs sleep onset. These seem optimized for the latter. The L-Theanine should help with sleep quality though. I'm ordering some today - will report back with biometric data in a couple weeks!
