Are we just eating candy now? The sugar in OLLY Goodbye Stress Gummies

Okay, I get that these are supposed to be a convenient way to relax, but have you seen the sugar content? 4g per gummy, and you take two? That's basically a candy bar. I'm all for self-care but I feel like we're just turning supplements into treats. Am I the only one who's a bit bothered by this? I like the idea of the ingredients, but I'm not a fan of the 'candy-fication' of vitamins. Maybe I'm just old school, but I prefer my supplements in pill form without all the excess sugar.

I used to think the same way, but for me, the convenience wins. I work nights and I'm always on the go, so chewing a gummy is way easier than messing with pills. Plus, these actually help me chill after a shift. I know they have some sugar, but I figure it's a trade-off. If I'm eating super clean otherwise, a few grams of sugar isn't a big deal. And honestly, they taste good, which makes me actually remember to take them. I've tried pills and I'd forget them half the time.

I was hesitant too, but then I read that the sugar helps with absorption? Not sure if that's true, but I've noticed these work better for me than some other brands that were sugar-free. But I get the concern about sugar. I just limit other sweets during the day to make up for it. I mean, we're all adults, we can manage our own sugar intake, right? Plus, the berry flavor is actually pretty good, not overly sweet.

As a med student, I've looked into the evidence. Some studies suggest that sugar can actually help with the delivery of certain compounds, but the amounts here are really not that high. It's like a small piece of fruit. But I get the philosophical argument – we're trying to be healthy, and adding sugar seems counterintuitive. However, if you're using these to manage stress, the sugar might be a minor issue compared to chronic stress. That being said, you could always split the gummies if you want less sugar. I've done that with my vitamins before. Just a thought!
