Traveling with OLLY Stress Gummies - Do they melt? TSA rules?
Hey folks, hitting the road for a Crossfit competition next week and need my OLLY Stress Gummies to stay chill during travel. Flying out of JFK, then a road trip to the venue. Anyone know if these things melt in a hot car or carry-on? Also, what's the deal with TSA - do they count as liquids? Don't wanna get held up at security. Thanks!
As a mom who's dragged supplements through airports more times than I can count - here's the real deal. TSA doesn't care about gummy vitamins, they're not liquids. Just keep them in original bottle if possible (shows ingredients). BUT they absolutely can melt! Left some in my car last summer during soccer practice and came back to a sticky mess. If you're hiking or road tripping, keep them in the coolest part of your bag, maybe with an ice pack. Pro tip: the berry flavor stains if they melt, so double bag them!
We take these on all our family camping trips! The key is temperature control. For hiking, I use a small insulated lunch bag with a reusable ice sheet - keeps them perfect even on hot trails. For air travel, I actually put them in my checked luggage wrapped in a towel (extra insulation) because overhead bins can get warm. The lemon balm in these is great for travel anxiety, but only if they're not a melted glob! Also, consider time zones - if you're crossing them, keep your dosing schedule consistent.
Okay but can we talk about how the texture changes if they get warm? I made the mistake of leaving these in my beach bag last month and while they didn't fully melt, they got this weird sticky coating that ruined the perfect chewiness. If you're a texture person like me, don't let them get above room temp. For road trips, glove compartment = death sentence. Center console is slightly better. Honestly though, the berry flavor holds up pretty well even when soft - still tastes better than most stress supplements I've tried!
