Hey all, tried making my own gummy multivitamins based on OLLY Men's formula. Used gelatin and a vitamin powder mix (A, C, D, E, B, zinc). First batch turned out rubbery and separated. Any tips on ratios or technique? I'm a digital nomad so simplicity is key.

Rubbery means too much gelatin or not enough heat. I make protein gummies all the time. Use 2 tbsp gelatin per 1 cup liquid. Bloom in cold water first, then heat slowly. If it separates, maybe your vitamin powder is clumping. Mix powder with a little warm water before adding to the gelatin mix.

Also check your pH. Gelatin doesn't like acidic stuff. If your vitamin C is ascorbic acid, it can break down the gel. I'd suggest using agar instead – more stable, but sets firmer. I'm a meditation rookie but I've dabbled in kitchen science lol. Try agar with fruit juice instead of water.

Budget student here! What vitamin powder did you use? I'd love to replicate OLLY but cheaper. Also did you include any flavor? Blackberry sounds good. For the rubbery issue, maybe you cooked it too long? Heard that overheat ruins gelatin. Try lower temp next time.

Thanks for the replies! I used a bulk multivitamin powder from Amazon – maybe too many fillers. And I did add some blackberry flavor extract. GreenGreg, I'll try your ratio and blooming method. LunarLily, I have some agar, maybe I'll do a half gelatin half agar mix. Noah, I'll share the powder brand if this works out. Will update!
