THREAD: My toddler thinks OLLY probiotics are candy - help!Started by OP

Hey everyone, need to share this funny/annoying situation. My 4-year-old found my OLLY probiotic gummies (the peach ones) and thought they were candy. He ate THREE before I caught him! He said 'Mommy, these are the best candies!' Now I'm worried about the extra fiber and probiotics for his little system. Anyone else have kids (or spouses!) who mistake these for treats? How do you store yours safely?

omg that's hilarious but totally get the concern! My husband did the same thing last month - he thought they were peach rings and ate half the bottle before realizing they were my supplements. His gut was... let's just say 'very active' for a couple days lol. I keep mine in a high cabinet now with a child lock. Maybe try explaining to your little one that they're 'mommy's special vitamins'? Kids understand more than we think!

Classic! I've been using these for 6 months and my teen REFUSES to try them because of the texture - says they're 'slimy' compared to regular gummies. I've found storing them in the fridge helps firm them up a bit. As for your situation, maybe consider a lockbox? I use one for all my supplements since I have curious pets too. The probiotics should be fine for your kid short-term, but maybe check with your pediatrician to be safe.

This is exactly why I stick to traditional pill-form supplements. No confusion, no texture issues, and you know exactly what you're getting. Gummy vitamins often have extra sugar and additives anyway. To each their own, but maybe this is a sign to switch to something less appealing to kids? Just my two cents. Hope your little one is okay!

Thanks everyone! JoyfulJack33 - you're right about explaining, I told him they're 'mommy's special tummy helpers' and he seemed to get it. IvyIron9 - fridge tip is genius, gonna try that! KaleKen20 - I hear you, but I have trouble swallowing pills so gummies work better for me. Update: kid is totally fine, just extra 'regular' if you know what I mean 😅 Ordered a lockbox per Ivy's suggestion!
