New study on prebiotic fiber in OLLY gummies – legit or biased?
Just saw a study (PMID: 34567890) claiming that the prebiotic fiber in these gummies significantly boosts gut microbiome diversity in 4 weeks. Sounds promising but it was funded by OLLY's parent company. Thoughts? Is it just marketing fluff?
Eh, I'd take it with a grain of salt. Most studies funded by the manufacturer are gonna show positive results. Plus, 500 million CFUs is a joke compared to what you get in a quality probiotic. I stick to fermented foods for gut health.
I've been taking these for a month and my digestion is way better. Could be placebo, but I notice less bloating. The study might be biased, but if the product works for me, I don't care lol. Also, peach flavor is bomb.
I'm with DynamicDan. Prebiotic fiber is good but 500M CFUs is low. The study probably cherry-picked data. I'd look for independent research or at least a meta-analysis. But hey, if it helps you poop regular, go for it.
