OLLY Probiotic Gummies - Are we just eating candy disguised as supplements?

Ugh, just looked at the label on my OLLY probiotic gummies and realized they have 2g of added sugar per serving! I get that they need to taste good, but come on... are we really turning supplements into candy now? I started taking these for gut health, not a sugar fix. Anyone else bothered by this?

Ellen, I totally feel you! It's not just the sugar - it's the whole 'candy-fication' trend. All that extra packaging, artificial flavors (even if 'natural' flavors), and processing. Why can't we just get pure probiotics in capsule form? I switched to a powdered probiotic you mix with water - zero sugar, less waste. Convenience shouldn't mean compromising purity!

Counterpoint: I actually LOVE these gummies! The peach flavor is amazing, and I'd never remember to take a pill daily. The sugar content is minimal - we're talking less than a teaspoon per day. If a tasty gummy gets people (like me!) to actually take their probiotics consistently, isn't that a win for gut health overall? Sometimes perfect is the enemy of good.

Interesting discussion! From a wellness perspective, I see both sides. Yes, added sugar isn't ideal, but consistency matters too. In my yoga classes, I recommend starting where you are - if gummies get someone into supplementing, great. Then maybe transition to cleaner options. That said, @EcoEllen526, have you tried making your own probiotic foods? Fermented veggies or kefir might align better with your fitness goals.

Thanks all! @PeakPaula - you're right about the packaging, didn't even think of that. @BioBob - I get the convenience argument, but as someone tracking macros, every gram counts! @LemonLiam525 - great point about homemade options. Maybe I'll finish this bottle but switch to capsules or fermented foods next. Still think companies should offer low-sugar versions though!
