THREAD: Traveling with OLLY Sleep Gummies - Do they melt? TSA rules?Started by OP

Hey everyone! I'm going on a trip next week - mix of flying, road tripping, and some hiking. I rely on my OLLY Sleep gummies (the blackberry ones with melatonin, L-theanine, etc.) to help me wind down in unfamiliar places. But I'm worried about traveling with them. Do these gummies melt easily in heat? What are TSA rules for supplements like this? And any storage tips for keeping them fresh during travel? Thanks!

OP, good question. From a biohacking perspective, temperature stability matters for supplement efficacy. Melatonin degrades above 77°F (25°C), and gummies can become sticky or melt in hot cars/checked luggage. For flights, TSA allows supplements in carry-ons - keep them in original labeled bottle to avoid questions. Pro tip: use a small insulated lunch bag with a cool pack if you'll be in heat. Also, L-theanine and botanicals like chamomile are less heat-sensitive, but consistency matters for dosing.

As a marathon runner who travels for races, I've taken these gummies everywhere! They do get soft if left in a hot car, but I've never had them fully melt into a mess. TSA has never stopped me - I just toss the bottle in my carry-on. For hiking, I put a few in a small pill case to save space. Road trip tip: don't leave them in the glovebox! I keep mine in the cooler with snacks. They've helped me sleep in noisy hotels after long drives, totally worth the hassle.

Oh dear, I give these to my grandkids when they sleep over, and I'd be so worried about them melting or going bad! When I travel to visit family, I always put the bottle in my purse (carry-on) where it's air-conditioned. TSA might peek if it's a big bottle, but 60-count is fine. Maybe wrap the bottle in a small towel in your bag for extra insulation? And please don't leave them in a hot car - my arthritis meds once melted, what a sticky mess! Safe travels, honey.
