DIY OLLY Sleep Gummy Clone? Need Help with Texture!

So I'm trying to make my own sleep gummies at home, like OLLY's but with higher melatonin. I used gelatin, L-theanine powder, melatonin, and some chamomile extract. But they came out super rubbery and kinda separated. Anyone got a recipe that actually works? I'm keto so no sugar syrups, maybe stevia? Help!

Hey! I tried this once and had the same issue. The trick is to bloom the gelatin in cold water first, then gently heat it. Also, agar agar is more forgiving for texture, but you gotta boil it. For keto, use allulose or erythritol – they dissolve better. Did you measure your powders right? Too much gelatin can make them bouncy.

Thanks Greg! I bloomed the gelatin but maybe I used too much. How much gelatin do you use per cup of liquid? And does agar work with melatonin? I heard heat can degrade it.

Not the same Greg lol but I concur! I use about 2 tbsp gelatin per cup of liquid for a firm gummy. For agar, you need to bring it to a boil, but melatonin might lose potency. I'd stick with gelatin but add a little lecithin to emulsify. Also, blackberry flavor from extract? Try that!

Lol sorry for the confusion! Yeah what GreenGreg320 said – lecithin helps! And for keto, I use a mix of allulose and monk fruit. My batch turned out great after that. Let us know if it works!
