DIY gummy vitamins - my batch turned into a sticky mess! Help?

Hey everyone, I tried making my own hair/skin/nails gummies at home to save money instead of buying stuff like OLLY Undeniable Beauty. I mixed gelatin with some biotin & vitamin C powder I had, plus a little grapefruit juice for flavor. But they never set right - just a gloopy, sticky blob after 4 hours in the fridge. Anyone have a reliable recipe or tips? What am I doing wrong?

First off, gelatin is made from animal bones/skin - not cool! Use agar agar instead, it's plant-based and sets firmer. But tbh, why DIY? Supplements aren't regulated well and you might not get the right doses. Plus OLLY uses natural flavors and colors, which is better than random powders. If you insist, try 1 tsp agar powder per cup of liquid, heat it fully, and add vitamins AFTER cooling slightly so they don't break down.

Less is more here. Skip the fancy mixes - just take a straight biotin pill. Gummies often have extra sugar and fillers anyway, even homemade. But if you're set on gummies: use a simple ratio like 1 packet gelatin to 1/2 cup juice, heat gently, and pour into molds immediately. Don't overcomplicate with multiple powders; they can mess with the texture.

lol this is why I stick to food. You're basically making expensive jelly without knowing if those powders even absorb properly. OLLY's gummies probably work because they're formulated in a lab, not a kitchen. But if your batch failed, maybe the vitamin powder ratio was off - too much powder can prevent gelling. Or your gelatin was old. Honestly, just eat a grapefruit and call it a day.
