My kid thought these were candy... and now refuses to eat them

So my 8-year-old found my stash of SmartSweets Peach Rings and thought they were actual candy. He ate like half a bag before I caught him. Then I tried to get him to take his gummy vitamins and he goes 'ew, these feel weird, they're not like the peach rings'. Now he won't touch either. Anyone else's kids pull this? 😂

Oh man, that's rough! Kids are too smart for their own good sometimes. I've had similar issues with my nephew - he once swapped his vitamin gummies for actual gummy worms. Maybe try mixing the vitamins with something he likes? Or bribe him with a peach ring after he takes the vitamin? Not the healthiest but hey, whatever works.

Texture is a real thing! I'm a biohacker and I've noticed that the pectin in those SmartSweets gives a different mouthfeel. My wife actually prefers the softer texture of the vitamins vs the 'chewy' candy. But for kids, it's all about flavor and fun. Have you tried the 'fruit snack' style vitamins? They're more like candy texture-wise.

Haha, my husband did the same thing last week! He grabbed my vitamins thinking they were those peach rings. Now he keeps asking me to buy more 'candy vitamins' for him. I just tell him to eat real fruit. But seriously, maybe let him have the peach rings as a treat after he takes his vitamins? Positive reinforcement works for my dog at least.
