Hey all! I tried making my own turmeric gummies using gelatin, turmeric powder, ginger powder, and some honey. I followed a recipe online but they came out super hard and gritty. 😭 Any tips on how to get that chewy texture like store-bought? Also, do I need to use lecithin or something for absorption? Thanks!

Hey SproutSid! First off, make sure you're using a high-quality gelatin (bloom around 200). The grittiness is probably from the turmeric not being fully dissolved. Try mixing the powders with a bit of warm water before adding to the gelatin. Also, a little coconut oil can help with absorption, but don't overdo it or they'll be greasy. For texture, let them set in the fridge for at least 4 hours. Good luck! 🌿

I've been making my own supplements for years. SproutSid, you might want to use agar agar if you want a firmer set. But if you want chewy, stick with gelatin. The key is to bloom the gelatin in cold water first, then heat gently. Also, add a pinch of black pepper with the turmeric—it boosts absorption! And for flavor, try stevia or monk fruit instead of honey, which can get sticky. Hope that helps!

Lol, I tried making gummies once and ended up with a sticky mess. Turned them into turmeric tea instead. 😂 But seriously, I've heard using a silicone mold is easier than a pan. Also, don't skip the fridge time—I got impatient and they were like rubber. Good luck, man!
