THREAD: My Ashwagandha gummies changed color and got hard - are they still safe to eat?Started by OP

Hey everyone, hoping for some advice. I've been taking these ashwagandha gummies for about a month now, but I just opened the bottle today and noticed they look different. Some have turned a darker brownish color, and they feel harder than usual - almost crunchy. A few are sticking together too. They're not expired yet (date is next month), but I'm worried. Has anyone else had this happen? Are they still safe to take?

Bro, I've seen this with my pre-workout gummies when I leave them in my gym bag. Usually it's just sugar bloom or moisture issues - not dangerous, but the texture gets weird. If they smell off or have mold, toss 'em. Otherwise, they're probably fine. I'd still take mine, but I'm not picky as long as they help with recovery. Maybe store them somewhere cooler? My garage gym gets hot.

Working remotely from Bali right now and humidity here kills everything. My ashwagandha gummies did the same thing last month - got sticky and changed color. I emailed the company and they said it's common with natural ingredients reacting to heat/humidity. They sent a replacement, but I ate the old ones anyway (no issues). If you're worried, check the ingredients for preservatives. Less processed = more likely to change.

Ugh, texture changes are the worst! I had a batch of melatonin gummies turn rock hard once - totally ruined the experience. For ashwagandha, the color darkening might just be oxidation (like apples browning). If they taste bitter or weird, I wouldn't eat them. But if they still taste okay, probably safe. Maybe transfer them to an airtight container? I keep mine with my tea collection away from sunlight.
