THREAD: Traveling with Beauty Gummies - Do they melt? TSA rules?Started by OP

Hey everyone! I'm going on a trip next week - mix of plane travel and some hiking. I always take my beauty gummies (collagen and biotin ones) but I'm worried about them melting in my bag or getting confiscated by TSA. Has anyone traveled with these? Do they hold up in heat? And what's the deal with carrying them on planes?

I've been traveling with gummies for years - was an early adopter back when they first hit the market. TSA-wise, they treat them like any other supplement. Just keep them in original packaging if possible. As for melting - depends on the brand. The cheaper ones definitely get sticky in heat. I use a small insulated lunch bag with an ice pack when I'm hiking in warm weather. Works like a charm!

As a marathon runner who travels to races constantly: YES they can melt! I learned the hard way at a hot weather race. Now I always put them in a hard container (like a pill case) and keep them in the coolest part of my bag. For planes, I've never had TSA question them, even when they were loose in a ziplock. Pro tip: don't leave them in a hot car during road trips!

The taste is what suffers most when they melt! I had some berry-flavored gummies turn into a sticky mess during a road trip last summer - totally ruined the texture and flavor profile. If you're a foodie like me who appreciates the taste experience, definitely keep them cool. I use one of those small thermos containers now. Also, TSA has never blinked at mine, even international flights.

I'm pretty new to supplements (just started meditating and trying to be healthier) but I traveled with my gummies last month. I kept them in my carry-on in the original bottle, no problems with security. They did get a little soft when I left my bag in the car though. Maybe we should all meditate on keeping our gummies cool? Just a thought from this rookie!
