THREAD: Biotin Gummies - Are We Just Eating Candy Now?Started by PurePete49

Just saw these new biotin gummies at the store and I'm shook. 8g of sugar per serving?! That's basically candy with a vitamin label slapped on it. I'm all for supplements but this 'candy-fication' is getting out of hand. As a Crossfit athlete, I track every gram - why would I want added sugar messing with my nutrition? Stick to pure pills or powders people!

I get where you're coming from Pete, but as someone who works 60-hour weeks, gummies are a lifesaver. I used to forget my biotin pills constantly because they're just another thing to choke down with breakfast. The gummies actually taste good and I remember to take them. Yeah there's some sugar, but it's better than not taking supplements at all. Convenience matters when you're juggling work, gym, and life.

That's just making excuses FitnessFanatic. If you're serious about health, you make time for proper supplementation. Sugar causes inflammation and messes with insulin response - counterproductive if you're trying to be healthy. There are sugar-free options or just man up and take the pill. My pre-workout doesn't taste like rainbows but it gets the job done without the junk.

Lol 'man up' - classic Crossfit response. Not everyone has the luxury of being a full-time fitness junkie. For busy professionals, adherence is the biggest issue with supplements. If a little sugar (equivalent to half an apple btw) means I actually take my biotin daily for hair/nails, that's a win. Different lifestyles need different solutions. Maybe check your privilege Pete?

Privilege? I work construction AND do Crossfit 6 days a week. It's about priorities. But fine, enjoy your candy. Just don't call it health optimization. Real supplements shouldn't need to taste like gummy bears to be effective. End of rant.
