THREAD: My gummy vitamins look weird - are they still safe to take?Started by OP

Hey everyone, hoping for some advice. I opened my bottle of multivitamin gummies this morning and they look... off. They're usually bright and chewy, but now they're kinda pale and have this white dusty coating on them. Some are stuck together too. They've been in my kitchen cabinet for about 2 months. Are these still safe to eat, or should I toss them? Don't wanna waste money but also don't wanna get sick before my big presentation next week!

OP, toss them. Not worth the risk. I've had that happen with gummies I left in my gym bag - temp changes from car to office messed them up. The white stuff is probably sugar bloom from moisture, and hardening means they're drying out. Nutrient degradation likely too. As a busy pro, you need reliable supplements. Buy a fresh bottle and store in cool, dry place. Time is money, and being sick costs more than $20 in gummies.

lol welcome to the world of sugar-based supplements! That white coating is definitely sugar bloom - happens when humidity fluctuates. I've seen it in tropical climates while nomading. They're PROBABLY safe chemically, but texture will be nasty. If they're not moldy and smell okay, they won't kill you, but why eat subpar stuff? Switch to capsule vitamins - no sugar, no texture issues, better for keto anyway. More stable for travel too.

Ugh I feel you! Night shift ruins everything - my gummies got hard last month from temp swings in my break room. They were still safe (I ate them, no issues), just not tasty. The sticking together is normal if they got warm. Check expiration date and smell them. If no weird odor, they're likely fine nutrition-wise, just unpleasant. Maybe try keeping them in the fridge? I do that now and it helps with the night shift heat cycles.
