THREAD: Started collagen gummies for sleep, but WOW my skin is glowing?!Started by OP

Hey everyone! So I've been taking these collagen gummies for about 3 weeks now, mainly because I read they might help with sleep quality (I'm a terrible sleeper). Honestly not sure if my sleep is better yet, but my skin??? It's SO much smoother and hydrated looking. My partner even noticed and asked if I changed my moisturizer. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal or just a weird coincidence?

Interesting observation, OP! From a medical perspective, collagen is a key structural protein in skin, joints, and connective tissue. While oral collagen supplements' efficacy is debated in studies, some research suggests hydrolyzed collagen peptides can increase skin elasticity and hydration by stimulating fibroblast activity. The sleep benefits are less clear—might be placebo or related to glycine content in some formulas. What brand/dosage are you using? Could be worth tracking other variables like diet/hydration too.

lol of course they're working on your skin, that's what collagen DOES. I'm skeptical about the sleep claims though—sounds like marketing. I tried a collagen powder last year for my joints (mom life is rough on the knees!) and my nails got crazy strong. Didn't help sleep at all. But hey, if your skin looks good, roll with it! Just watch the sugar in those gummies, some brands pack it in.

Haha wild! I take collagen in my morning smoothies for joint support (all that kitchen standing). Never thought about sleep. But skin makes sense—I make bone broth from scratch sometimes, and my wife swears her skin is better when we eat it weekly. Maybe the gummies are giving you that same collagen boost? If you're cooking, try adding more vitamin C foods too, helps your body use the collagen. Also, what flavor gummies? Might steal the idea for a dessert recipe lol.
