THREAD: Weird side effect from kids' gummies? Anyone else?Started by OP

Hey everyone, kinda weird question but has anyone else noticed side effects from giving their kids gummy vitamins? My 7-year-old has been taking the berry-flavored ones for about a month, and lately he's been having SUPER vivid dreams—like full-on adventure stories he tells me every morning. No nightmares or anything, just really intense. Is this normal? Should I be worried?

Fascinating! This could be related to certain vitamins affecting neurotransmitter production. Vitamin B6, often included in gummies, plays a role in serotonin and melatonin synthesis—both involved in sleep regulation. Check the label for pyridoxine content. While generally harmless, excessive B6 can cause neurological symptoms in rare cases. Consider reducing to every other day and monitor.

AlphaAdam's on point with the B6 theory! I've heard similar anecdotes from clients—usually with high-potency formulas. Might also be the zinc or magnesium if those are included. As a pro tip: try giving them with breakfast instead of bedtime. The body processes nutrients better with food, and it might lessen the dream intensity. Keep us posted!

lol my nephew had this too! but his were about giant gummy bears chasing him 😂 his mom switched to a lower-dose organic brand and it stopped. maybe check if yours has artificial colors? some kids react to those. i'd say if he's sleeping fine otherwise and not scared, probably nbd. but yeah maybe try a different brand like the other said.

Nature has its quirks! Reminds me of how certain plants can affect dreams in traditional remedies. Not harmful per se, but listen to your child's body. If it persists or worries you, maybe pause for a week and see if it changes. Always best to observe like watching seasons shift—patience reveals patterns. Photos of the label might help us compare ingredients?
