THREAD: My toddler thinks the omega-3 gummies are candy - help!Started by QuartzQuinn258

Okay, I need to vent. My 4-year-old found my omega-3 gummy vitamins and now he thinks they're 'special candy.' I caught him trying to sneak the bottle out of the cabinet yesterday! I tried explaining they're vitamins, but he just sees the fun shapes and sweet taste. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm worried he'll overdose if I'm not careful, but hiding them feels impossible with his eagle eyes.

OMG YES! My husband does the same thing! I work nights so I keep my supplements in the bathroom cabinet. Last week I found him munching on my omega-3s while gaming at 2am. He said 'they taste better than my protein bars babe' ๐Ÿ˜‚ I had to put a child lock on the cabinet... for my 32-year-old husband. Maybe try a high cabinet your kid can't reach? Or one of those lock boxes?

Interesting problem! As someone who travels constantly, I keep all supplements in clearly labeled, opaque containers in my luggage. No fun shapes or colors - just boring white bottles. Could you transfer them to something less appealing? Also, have you tried the liquid omega-3? No candy confusion there, though the texture is... an acquired taste. Works great for my keto regimen though!

Bro, my gym buddy's kid REFUSES the gummies because of the 'fishy aftertaste.' Kid's got a more refined palate than me lol. Maybe try the non-gummy versions? I take omega-3 capsules with my post-workout shake - zero candy confusion. But honestly, if your kid's eating them, at least he's getting the benefits! Just monitor the dosage. My niece went through a phase where she'd only eat 'orange fish candy' for weeks.

Thanks everyone! @DewyDaphne the lock box idea is genius - ordering one now. @KetoKevin I might switch to capsules when this bottle runs out. @IvyIron you're right about the benefits, but the bottle says 'keep out of reach of children' for a reason! Last update: today he asked if the 'fish candies' could be his after-school snack. Sigh. Parenting win?
