THREAD: Mixing my daily gummy with coffee - safe combo or bad idea?Started by OP

Hey everyone, quick question - I take a multivitamin gummy every morning with my breakfast. Lately I've been wondering if it's okay to take it with my coffee instead? Sometimes I'm in a rush and just want to gulp down both together. Anyone tried this or know if the caffeine affects absorption?

OP, I've biohacked this exact scenario! Coffee contains tannins that can interfere with iron absorption from your gummy. I take my gummies 30min before coffee or 2hrs after. Also, heat from hot coffee might degrade some vitamins. Cold brew works better if timing is tight. #optimize

I'm no expert but I take my gummies with my morning smoothie (berries, spinach, almond milk). Nature's combo! Coffee makes me jittery anyway. Maybe try switching to herbal tea? The sunrise through my kitchen window while taking supplements is my favorite peaceful moment ☀️

SupplementSteve is correct about tannins. Studies show caffeine doesn't significantly affect most vitamins, but coffee's acidity could potentially degrade certain compounds. However, unless you're soaking your gummy in espresso, the brief contact during swallowing probably has minimal effect. More concerning: are you taking fat-soluble vitamins (A,D,E,K) without food? They need fat for absorption.

AlphaAdam makes a good point about fat-soluble vitamins! OP, what's in your gummy? Check the label. If it has D3, pair it with avocado or nuts. I cycle my supplements based on circadian biology - energizing ones AM, recovery ones PM. Coffee+gummy might work if you add MCT oil to both 😉
