THREAD: Can I mix my daily gummy with morning coffee? Safety concerns?Started by PurePete

Hey all, night shift worker here trying to optimize my weird schedule. I take a multivitamin gummy every morning after my shift (around 8 AM) with my first cup of coffee. Just realized I never checked if that's safe or if it messes with absorption. Anyone know if caffeine interacts with gummy vitamins? Specifically using 'VitaBoost' brand.

Pete! Biohacker perspective: Coffee's tannins can inhibit iron absorption from supplements by up to 80% if taken together. Also, the heat might degrade some vitamins in the gummy. I'd space them 30-60 min apart. Personally, I take my gummies with a fat source (like almonds) for fat-soluble vitamins, then coffee later. Track your energy levels if you change the routine - data is key!

Honestly, why complicate things? For decades, people took their vitamins with water at breakfast and were fine. All this timing and mixing talk feels unnecessary. Just take the gummy as directed on the bottle, with or without food. If you're worried, ask a pharmacist, not the internet. Coffee won't kill you, but Steve's probably right about spacing it out if you want 'optimal' results.

omg i never thought about this! i take my calming magnesium gummy with chamomile tea sometimes... is that bad?? i'm new to supplements and meditation, trying to be mindful about what i put in my body. maybe we should all just listen to our bodies more? but now i'm overthinking my tea routine lol

Thanks everyone! Steve - gonna try spacing them out and see if I notice a difference. Quinn - fair point about keeping it simple, but night shift messes with everything so I'm tweaking where I can. Lily - your tea combo sounds peaceful, probably fine! Appreciate the input, folks.
