THREAD: Can I take prenatal gummies with my morning coffee? Worried about interactions!Started by FitnessFanatic

Hey all, busy mom-to-be here trying to streamline my routine. I take Nature's Way prenatal gummies every morning with breakfast, but I also need my double shot of espresso to function before work. Anyone know if caffeine affects how the vitamins absorb? I've heard mixed things about taking supplements with coffee. Trying to be efficient but safe!

As a nature photographer, I'm always mindful of what goes into my body and how it interacts with the environment. From what I've read, caffeine can interfere with iron absorption in prenatal vitamins, which is crucial during pregnancy. Maybe try spacing them out? Take your gummies with breakfast, then have your coffee 30-60 mins later. I've switched to herbal tea during my pregnancies - the forest provides better energy anyway! 🌿

Ah, this takes me back to when my wife was pregnant with our first! We used to have this same debate. The old-school advice was always to avoid coffee with vitamins, but our doctor said moderate caffeine (under 200mg) is fine. The key is consistency - take your gummies at the same time daily. Maybe try taking them with your evening snack instead? That's what worked for us. Those prenatal gummies tasted like candy anyway!

Fellow caffeine addict here! I'm not pregnant but take prenatal gummies for hair/nails (don't judge!). I've been taking mine WITH my coffee for months and my bloodwork came back perfect last checkup. The iron levels were fine. I think as long as you're not drinking coffee like water, you're probably okay. But definitely ask your OBGYN to be sure - every body is different!
