THREAD: Found Sleep Gummies on sale at Costco - is this a steal or are they lower quality?Started by OP

Hey everyone, I was at Costco yesterday and saw their store-brand sleep gummies on sale for like half the price of the name-brand ones I usually get. Has anyone tried these? Is the lower price just because it's generic, or does it mean they're using cheaper ingredients? Don't want to waste money on something that won't work, but also don't want to overpay if it's the same stuff!

PeakPaula here! I always check the ingredient list first. Sometimes store brands use the same active ingredients (like melatonin) but might have different fillers or sweeteners. Costco's brand tends to be pretty transparent - look for organic certifications and avoid artificial colors. If they're using sustainable sourcing, that's a win-win for your sleep and the planet! I'd say compare labels in-store before buying.

BioBob47 checking in! lol I've tried both name-brand and generic sleep gummies from Target before my meditation sessions. Honestly, I didn't notice much difference in how sleepy they made me? But the cheaper ones sometimes tasted more... chemical-y? If you're just using them occasionally to wind down, might be worth the savings. But if you rely on them every night, maybe stick with what you know works?

AlphaAdam here. Pharmacologically speaking, melatonin content is what matters most for sleep gummies - and that's regulated by the FDA as a supplement, so generic and brand-name must contain within 10% of the labeled amount. Costco's Kirkland Signature line actually has good quality control based on independent lab tests I've seen. The 'steal' factor comes from bulk pricing and minimal marketing costs. Check if the dosage (mg per gummy) matches your usual brand - if so, it's probably a smart buy.

Thanks all! Really helpful perspectives. I'll check the labels like PeakPaula suggested, and good to know about the dosage consistency from AlphaAdam. Might grab a small pack to test first since BioBob47 mentioned the taste difference. Appreciate the insights!
