THREAD: Weird side effect from my gummy vitamins - anyone else?Started by GlowGigi

Hey everyone, I've been taking these new gummy multivitamins for about two weeks now (the ones with the extra B-complex). They're supposed to help with energy, which I desperately need with my 3-year-old who thinks 5 AM is party time. But I've noticed something weird - I'm having the most VIVID dreams every night. Like, full-on movie plots with characters I don't know. Last night I dreamed I was a pastry chef in Paris? I don't even bake! Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal or should I be concerned?

GlowGigi - YES! I had something similar when I started taking vitamin B complex gummies last month. I'm an amateur chef (trying to up my game), and I started having dreams where I could literally TASTE ingredients I was cooking with in the dream. Woke up craving saffron once after dreaming about paella. From what I've read, B vitamins (especially B6) can affect neurotransmitter production and REM sleep. Might be worth checking if yours have high B6 content. On the bright side, my dream-ratatouille was fantastic!

Oh my gosh, my daughter had something similar with her children's gummies! Not dreams, but her urine turned bright neon yellow - scared me half to death until our pediatrician said it was just the riboflavin (B2) flushing out. She said it's completely harmless as long as she's drinking enough water. Are you staying hydrated, GlowGigi? Sometimes these supplements work better when you're properly hydrated. Also, check if they have any artificial colors - we switched to a dye-free brand and noticed fewer 'quirks.'

Night shift worker here - can confirm the vivid dream thing. Started when I switched to a gummy with extra B12 for energy during my 11PM-7AM shifts. The dreams are WILD, but honestly? Kinda entertaining during my downtime. My doctor said it's common and harmless as long as you're not having night terrors or sleep disturbances. Maybe try taking them in the morning instead of before bed? That helped me tone it down a bit. Still get the energy boost without the midnight movie marathon in my head.
